An interesting news from Mexico. The mayor married the crocodile to bring good luck to his people. Marriage was part of a centuries-old ritual. Mayor Victor Hugo Sosa of San Pedro Huamelula, Mexico married a female crocodile named Alicia Adriana.

People of this region, where fishing is the main means of livelihood, believe that if they get married in this way, there will be chakara in the sea. Locals call the crocodile bride as ‘Rajakumari’. Every year the mayor of this place has to marry a new crocodile.

After tying the crocodile’s mouth and hands with ribbons, the people dressed them in different colors over the white wedding dress and brought them to the wedding in a very festive way accompanied by music. The wedding took place on Friday at a town hall in the northern part of Osaka.
