The mayor of Mendiolaza Adela Arning asked for Instagram residents to pay taxes given the “critical” situation of the municipality’s finances. A few days ago he took control of the municipality. He replaced Daniel Salibi, the historic community leader of the town, in management.

Located a few kilometers from the capital of Cordoba, this mountain paradise has become a dormitory city for those who found a place that combines landscapes and urbanization. But it did not stay stagnant and continued its growth. It was one of the places with a strong demographic increase, mainly in closed neighborhoods or countries. Now, with an expanded ejido it contains more than 22 thousand inhabitants.

The first message that the president chose was simple and direct. Through her networks, she called on her neighbors to catch up on taxes. The municipal coffers are critical and the administration needed provincial money to be able to pay the salaries and bonuses of the employees in Mendiolaza.

Message

“Dear neighbors, today it is my turn to speak to you as mayor of the city and I’m going to do it with all frankness as I always did“, begins Arning’s message on the social network.

And then he adds: “As everyone already knows, we have received a municipality with many debts, without money in the box, which leaves us a critical situation”.

He also explained that “the municipality’s website is not working, it is down, so we cannot collect taxes.”

“I don’t know if it is a coincidence, but on Monday we are having these problems and we are working to solve it,” he said.

Order

“Until, I want to ask you to go to the municipality to pay your taxes. It would be very useful to resolve this situation. I hope to have you. Thank you very much,” concludes the mayor’s message.

Arning, a PRO candidate, won by less than 30 votes in the municipal elections on June 25 of this year and put an end to 24 years of government by the radical Daniel Salibi.

“The difference is 28 votes. They were enough to be able to win,” said the mayor of the city of Sierras Chicas on that occasion.
