U.S. House Speaker McCarthy said he plans to meet with President Biden on Thursday afternoon to continue negotiations on the debt ceiling. Negotiators also said they intend to resume talks on the 21st.
McCarthy told reporters on the 21st that he had a telephone conversation with US President Biden, who was on his way home from Japan on a presidential plane, and that the talks were “constructive.”
