A man was caught with meth after an early morning machete attack on a Tennessee McDonald’s, police say.
According to a Facebook post from the Johnson City Police Department, officers were called to a McDonald’s parking lot in Johnson City at around 8:45 a.m. on Sunday. A witness reported that two men, one of whom was carrying a machete, were fighting Department.
The police arrived to find a man with cuts to his head, leg and hands in the parking lot. He was taken to a hospital and later released.
The suspect, Elijah Taylor, had fled the scene, but was later found near McDonald’s in a traffic problem, police said.
He was taken into custody where the police said they discovered that he hid methamphetamine in his shoe.
The 36-year-old was arrested with intent to sell for serious physical injury and possession of methamphetamine, the police said. He is being held at the Washington County Detention Center.
A police trial is scheduled for Tuesday afternoon.
