McLaren F1 announces 2023 F1 machine “MCL37” on February 13[F1-Gate.com]

McLaren F1 has announced that the 2023 F1 machine “MCL37” will be unveiled on February 13th.

Following Aston Martin, AlphaTauri, Ferrari and the Alpine F1 team, McLaren is the fifth team to confirm the announcement date of the 2023 F1 machine.

McLaren announced the 2023 F1 machine “MCL37” on February 13th. This will be the same day as Aston Martin’s AMR23 announcement date.

The unveiling of the McLaren MCL37 will be the first official event in McLaren’s new driver line-up for 2023, with 2021 Formula 2 champion Oscar Piastri joining as teammate Lando Norris.

Oscar Piastri, who was central to the story of contract disputes over the summer, got his first taste of McLaren’s F1 car late last year after being released from his contract with the Alpine F1 team. I was at the center of the contractual narrative over the summer.

Teammate Lando Norris, entering his fifth season, finished 7th in the 2022 season. Norris was the only driver other than Ferrari, Red Bull and Mercedes to finish on the podium all season.

But McLaren weren’t good enough to end the season as the top midfield team, dropping to fifth in the Constructors’ Championship behind Alpine F1 Team.

McLaren will also enter the 2023 season with a new team principal after Andreas Seidl in December.

Andreas Seidl joins the Sauber Group and becomes CEO of the Sauber Group after Frédéric Vasseur’s move to Ferrari.

Andreas Seidl has been replaced by former McLaren racing director Andrea Stella, who will take over as t-team principal ahead of the 2023 season.
