Two outbreaks of measles have been registered in the Ulyanovsk region: the first one appeared in the Melekessky district and a recently appeared outbreak in the Baryshsky district. Both cases were recognized as imported, that is, the sources of spread were people who came from other regions. This was reported by the chief freelance infectious disease specialist of the regional Ministry of Health, Valeria Rechnik.
According to the specialist, today both outbreaks have been localized, and all necessary immunoprophylaxis has been carried out for people who have been in contact with the sick. The spread of measles has been stopped.
