The insurance union contradicted the Minister of Transport, Guillermo Reyeswho stated that the lack of Soat policies is putting the lives of drivers and pedestrians at risk.

“It is not true that a person who does not have the Soat would not receive medical attention in the event of an accident (as the minister said). The Soat transfers part of the resources from the premiums to the health system so that two cases can be addressed: if there are injuries and the vehicle does not have a valid Soat, if the vehicle that caused the accident flees and it is not possible identify it,” said Miguel Gómez, president of Fasecolda.
Therefore, he emphasized that “It is not true that the lack of a valid Soat is putting the lives of drivers at risk.pedestrians or any victim of traffic accidents”.
Let us remember that in cases where there is no current policy, victims of traffic accidents will be entitled to the same medical care as those covered by the Soat.
Among the agreements reached by the Government with motorcyclists is that no later than October 31 they will have a solution for the Soat problem, to review discounts on this insurance.
