First Interstate BancSystem, Inc. has appointed Lorrie L. Asker as Executive Vice President and Chief Banking Officer (“CBO”). Ms. Asker had served as interim CBO since February 2023. With 30 years of experience building strong relationships and delivering results, Ms. Asker specializes in developing long-term strategic plans that hold account of the changing landscape of banking products and services.
Asker oversees all commercial and retail banking operations in the 14 First Interstate states. Prior to serving as interim CBO, Ms. Asker served as president of First Interstate’s Rocky Mountain region since 2019, managing 10 commercial banking teams and more than 60 branches. Asker previously led the commercial and industrial banking division for First Foundation Bank and oversaw business analytics and systems at Umpqua Bank.
His career also includes tenures at Sterling Bank, US Bank and West One Bank. Ms. Asker was appointed to Idaho Governor Brad Little’s Economic Rebound Advisory Committee and is a member of the Government Affairs Committee of the Idaho Bankers Association. She currently sits on the board of directors of St.
Alphonsus Regional Medical Center Foundation. A graduate and faculty member of Pacific Coast Banking School, Ms. Asker holds a bachelor’s degree in organizational communication from the University of Idaho and a master’s degree in business administration from the College of William and Mary.
