The fight for the left field of the New York Yankees continues to take place, and during Spring Training the manager of the team, Aaron Boone has been able to analyze the figure that would fit perfectly in said position.

Despite the names that have emerged in recent dates of possible candidates, it seems that there is an unexpected player who would take over the left field of the New York team for the upcoming season of competitions in the Major Leagues.

This is Willie Calhoun, who according to international media, said player would be taken into consideration by the foreman of the Bronx Bombers. “I think he’s in the mix. He can hit and I think he did a good job with his shooting, I feel like he’s handled the routine game,” Boone said.

During the current Spring Training, Calhoun has a batting line of .367/.472/.533 with a home run, two doubles and 3 RBIs, which have allowed him to earn the confidence of the Mules’ strategist for the start of the 2023 MLB campaign.

For now, said player is listed as the team’s next left fielder, and it is possible that in the coming days his starting position will be announced on Opening Day.
