Created in 2007, the Pipa Prize has become a reference in the artistic scene over the years, consolidating itself as an important catalyst for contemporary artists seeking visibility and recognition. With an inclusive approach, the award welcomes diverse forms of expression, such as painting, sculpture, installation, performance, video art and much more.

The award dynamics takes place in stages, from the nomination of the artists to the consecration of the great winner. The selection of participants is made by a committee made up of specialists and renowned art critics, who analyze the work of dozens of national artists and pre-select those who stood out in the contemporary art scene.

Public participation is crucial as popular vote helps determine finalists and the overall winner.

The finalists, chosen by the sum of popular votes and the evaluation of the committee, have their works exhibited in a special exhibition, which takes place in a virtual and in-person way, which will be held at the Imperial Palace in Rio de Janeiro between September 9th and November 12th still this year. The exhibition gives the public the opportunity to see the artists’ creations up close and immerse themselves in a universe of unique and provocative artistic expressions.
