On Thursday, April 4, 2024, the politician of Achaia with the Nea Dimokratia Andreas Tsokos discussed with the Mayor of Kalavryton Athanasios Papadopoulos.
Following the presence of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis in Kalavryta, Andreas Tsokos met with Mayor Thanasis Papadopoulos, in order to promote and advance the priorities set in the meetings with government actors for the region.
The demands and positions of the Municipality of Kalavryta are of concern to the government, as well as personally to the politician of Achaia Andreas Tsokos, who for this cooperates and is constantly in contact with the local community, institutions and citizens, with the aim of promoting actions for the benefit of all. In this regard, the politician of Achaia with the New Democracy Andreas Tsokos said: “With indisputable characteristics of the historicity and national importance of Kalavryta, in combination with the prospects of further highlighting the ski center and the primary sector, many issues were analyzed in the government meetings, which can bring many important benefits for the region and the residents of Kalavryta. Undoubtedly, we need to find solutions to the critical problems, such as the reopening of the cog railway, in order to be able to move forward with greater development moves.
The government of New Democracy, with the visit made by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis at an important symbolic moment in time, highlighted the area of Kalavryta as a primary point of government interventions and actions. On the one hand, mountain tourism and on the other hand the primary sector, are key pillars of the region’s prospects and its emergence as a model of sustainable development of our homeland.
We must advance the projects to strengthen the ski resort, as well as projects for the road network and at the same time strengthen the agricultural livestock products produced in the cooperative of Kalavryta which is a model for our country.
The well-being of all citizens, but also the highlighting of the special characteristics of our region, are inescapable goals at the central government level, far from populism or other toxicities. We have the citizens and the issues of everyday life that we have to solve and for this I discussed in detail with the Mayor of Kalavryta Athanasios Papadopoulos, whom I thank for the cooperation, which I hope will contribute the most for our region.
