A meeting on cooperation in tourism between Morocco and China was held Monday in Agadir. Initiated by Ibn Zohr University in partnership with the Chinese Embassy in Morocco and the Confucius Institute under the Mohammed V University of Rabat, this meeting focused on examining ways to strengthen the dynamics of cultural exchanges and tourism between the two countries.

Speaking on this occasion, the Chinese Ambassador to Morocco, Li Changlin, said that this meeting once again underlines the importance of strengthening tourist exchanges and cooperation between Morocco and China, noting in this regard that branches of the Confucius Institute have been created to teach Chinese language and culture for the benefit of Moroccan students.

For his part, the president of Ibn Zohr University, Abdelaziz Bendou, stressed that this meeting, in which several Moroccan and Chinese actors and academics participate, strengthens the partnership between the two countries in the cultural and tourist fields, particularly after the establishment of a strategic partnership between the two countries during the visit of King Mohammed VI to China in May 2016.

For her part, the director of the Confucius Institute, Karima Yatribi, noted that this meeting is an opportunity to discuss ways to strengthen trade and tourism between the two countries in the perspective of post-pandemic recovery.
