Asunción, IP Agency.- A Technical Table was established to analyze a National Strategic Plan 2030, as well as the progress and goals to be met; and in addition, it was agreed to work on a plan that ensures the development of science.
These issues were analyzed during the audience of the Minister of Economy and Finance, Carlos Fernández Valdovinos and the Vice Minister of Human Capital and Organizational Management, Andrea Picaso with the president of the National Council of Science and Technology, Benjamín Barán.
The head of CONACYT expressed that the meeting was very productive, since it was agreed to establish a technical working table between the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), CONACYT and the Central Bank of Paraguay (BCP), to see what the components that make up the research and development of the country.
“We agreed to re-check the updated Strategic Plan until 2030. I am very satisfied, I see that all the conditions are in place to continue developing and maturing science in Paraguay,” Barán reported after the meeting.
He stressed that there is a lot of work left in this matter and that this dialogue table will seek to define all these strategic lines and agree on the exact numbers that can be allocated to research and development from the Science and Technology Council.
He commented that the meeting held the day before with Minister Fernández Valdovinos and Vice Minister Picaso was more conceptual and strategic, but that at the working table the numbers will be refined to have a complete plan that ensures the development of science, above all in the medium and long term, reported the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
