Meloni’s party wants to “protect” the Italian language from foreign words – Italy

Rome – The governing party “Fratelli d’Italia”, the group of Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, wants to protect the Italian language and declares war on foreign words in public administration documents. Public authorities and offices are to be punished with a fine of up to 10,000 euros if they are guilty of “foreign infiltration”, i.e. using terms that do not belong to the Italian language.
