On Friday evening, the Egyptian Public Prosecutor decided to release the artist, Menna Shalaby, after interrogating her Caught at Cairo International Airport in possession of narcotics.

And she said in a statement that she had received a notification at noon on Friday that the actress, Menna Shalaby, was arrested at Cairo International Airport upon her return from abroad, during the completion of customs procedures, and that she was in possession of a number of bags containing her personal belongings.
She also added: “By placing the bags on an x-ray, it was found that there were organic condensates inside them, so they were thoroughly searched, which resulted in the discovery of substances suspected of being drugs, so they were arrested and the seized materials were kept.”

Then the Public Prosecution Office initiated investigations, and began by interrogating the artist regarding the accusation attributed to her of possessing and obtaining narcotic substances with the intent to use, and she denied them.

After that, the Public Prosecution decided to release her with a financial guarantee of fifty thousand pounds, and to send the seized materials in her possession to the Forensic Medicine Authority for examination and to clarify their nature and the extent to which they contained any of the narcotic substances.
Sources had revealed to Al-Arabiya.net that the list of seizures seized by the artist included 12 bags of marijuana, cigarettes with the drug THC known as cannabis, hashish chocolate, hashish oil, stimulants, and drug-stuffed gum.
