INDONESIA maintains its hopes of winning the men’s doubles and women’s doubles title at the 2024 Swiss Open badminton tournament which will take place in Basel. In men’s doubles, three Indonesian pairs qualified for the round of 16. Meanwhile in women’s doubles, four pairs advanced to the round of 16.

In men’s doubles, Bagas Maulana/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri and Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Mohammad Reza Pahlevi Isfahani followed in the footsteps of Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin. In the first round, Wednesday (20/3), Bagas/Fikri and Sabar/Reza won two straight games over their respective opponents.

Bagas/Fikri, who are the top seeds, beat China’s men’s doubles, Huang Di/Liu Yi, 21-16, 21-18. Meanwhile, Sabar/Reza, runners-up at the 2024 Orleans Masters, won over Joshua Magee/Paul Reynolds from Ireland with a score of 21-8, 21-19.
