Mercado Livre changes color for the first time in 23 years

In remembrance of Consumer Week, which runs from March 13th to March 19th, the Mercado Livre website turned blue this Saturday morning (11). The special action replaces the brand’s iconic yellow and aims to consolidate Mercado Pago.

In a somewhat unexpected move, Mercado Livre adopted a blue look this Saturday morning, scaring those who are used to the brand’s color identity. Check out:

According to the company, the action seeks to strengthen the image of Mercado Pago as the digital bank of Grupo Mercado Livre. After all, the shade of blue in question was not chosen by chance. It is the same as the payment platform.

“This is a unique moment in the history of both brands. Opening the Mercado Livre website and not finding the yellow one shows how much we are expanding our synergy. In the coming months, we will carry out several activations that will connect us even more, always with the objective of making the benefits of our ecosystem tangible for users”, said Iuri Maia, Head of Branding at Mercado Pago for Latin America.

Platform users will be able to see the site in blue for a limited time. That’s because the action will remain active only between 8 am and 11 am (Brasília time) this morning.
