Mercado Pago announces the addition of three new tokens to its cryptoactive portfolio

2023-11-09 18:00:00

O Payment Market, a digital bank from the Mercado Livre group, announced the release of more than three token options for the portfolio for buying, selling and maintaining crypto assets. The new feature allows the transfer of cryptos to any account or digital wallet.

According to the digital bank, from now on, it will be possible to operate with the Chainlink (LINK) token, a protocol that interconnects data from the real world (off-chain) to the digital universe, and with Uniswap (UNI), which simplifies the exchange between cryptos and reduces the costs of these operations.

In addition to those already mentioned, the list of new alternatives for customers is closed by the Litecoin token (LTC), one of the oldest protocols on the market, focused on micro transactions. With these additions, the platform hopes to attract even more users to the crypto market.

The cryptocurrency service arrived on the platform in 2021through a partnership with Paxos, which acts as custodian, offering the possibility of operating with cryptoactives such as Bitcoin, Ethereum and Pax Dollar, starting at R$1.

According to Mercado Pago, since the arrival of this type of service, more than 2 million users have already entered the crypto universe through the platform. The application promises to offer educational content and a simple, agile and safe user experience.

“We are increasingly offering a robust value proposition to our customers, now bringing more crypto options and allowing them to transfer their cryptos to other wallets”, commented the Head of Digital Banking at Mercado Pago, Ignacio Estivariz.
