A Mercedes-Benz announced this week the concept of Vision One-Elevena car inspired by the materials of C 111 from the 1960s and 1970s. It is a vehicle with a futuristic design that accommodates two people and would arrive with a cylindrical battery with liquid cooling.

This car draws attention from its design, which has a monolithic exterior in metallic orange. Both in this region and inside, there is the brand’s intention to honor the iconic C 111. In fact, the company’s head of design, Gorden Wagener, said that this concept reflects the brand’s objectives.

The concept features a car with two axial-flow electric motors mounted on the rear axle. According to the company, they are more compact and lighter compared to what is seen equipped in the vast majority of current electric vehicles, with radial flow.

Axial flux versions also promise greater efficiency, as the electromagnetic flux runs parallel to the motor’s axis of rotation, as opposed to perpendicular. In addition, this technology stands out for having a narrow footprint and with that, the car is generally lighter.
