Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff believes his team is close to winning its first race of the 2022 Formula 1 season.
The Mercedes team started the season with a significant decline in its performance due to the drastic changes in technical regulations, the distinctive design concept of the Mercedes ‘W13’ that made it difficult to find balance, and perfect tuning standards.
However, during the last rounds, the Mercedes team was able to make good progress, accompanied by bringing in many updates and new parts to improve the balance of the car, and the team was in the fight for victory during the Dutch Grand Prix last weekend, before Red Bull driver Max Verstappen outperformed and won in front of His fans at the Zandvoort circuit.

Wolff said: “It wasn’t our fastest car in the Netherlands, but the team put in a great effort to be in the fight for the win.. We have to make sure we’re in that competition race after race.”
He continued: “There were many risks in the Zandvoort race, but it did not work out completely. Our aim is to compete to win races, and that must be accompanied by bold decisions.”
He added: “We scored valuable points in our quest to compete for second place in the Constructors’ World Championship. All the efforts of the team bring us very close to achieving our first win of the season.”
He continued: “However, I expect to face many challenges in the Monza round due to the characteristics of this circuit. But we are optimistic that our performance will be better than in the Spa-Francorchamps Tour, and our aim is to compete for the podium places again.”
