Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! – Martina Berg

Today is Christmas Eve! The contemplative hours of the year should give us a happy Christmas time with dear people. The children’s anticipation is growing. Most of them have beautifully decorated their Christmas tree and are enjoying the glow of the lights. Some worry about how the banquet table for the annual Christmas dinner will be set. And some have packed their suitcases and traveled far away because they don’t really know what to do with Christmas.

The celebration of my childhood

For me, this year is very modest in terms of gifts and celebrations. The Christmas season will be contemplative. It is the first Christmas that will take place without my parents or a parent. I’m sure I’ll have to think about the wonderful Christmas celebrations of my childhood from time to time. Yes, everything has its time and everything is ephemeral.

During this time it is important not to take on too much and not want to be the perfect hostess.
It is much more important to spend meaningful time with your loved ones – and without hassle, stress and hectic.

And maybe it’s even time that we think about the Christmas story again. I think it’s nice when a younger family member reads a story, you listen to the stories with the family over a cup of coffee, tea and pastries and just let the child be a child.

  • Personally, these days I really enjoy reading a short story about Christmas over breakfast on the Sundays in Advent. A ritual that I created for myself and have been practicing for several years.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TIME – SAY THANK YOU!

I say to all my dear readers THANK YOU VERY MUCH for the loyalty, the wonderful comments and the time you give me and my blog. It is always a great pleasure to have a wonderful exchange with you – at least virtually.

To all of you in this world, wherever you can read my Christmas greetings, I wish you an enchantingly beautiful Christmas season with many happy moments in the company of very dear people.

How beautifully adorned the festive room!
the lights twinkle on the Christmas tree!
o happy time, o blissful dream!
The mother sits in the children’s circle;
now everything is silent at her bidding:
she sings the praise and praise of the Christ child.
And all around, lit by the Christmas tree,
is nicely presented in pictures
of the holy book palm world.
The children see the splendor of the pictures,
and take heed of the singing,
That sounds so sweet at Christmas!
O happy circle in the festive room!
o golden lights on the Christmas tree!
oh happy time! oh blissful dream!
