Messi scored but Inter Miami lost in Saudi Arabia

Inter Miami, lined up with Lionel Messi, Luis Suárez, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba, played their first warm-up match during their Asian tour. Al-Hilal did not lack stars either, Sergej Milikovics-Savics, Aleksandar Mitrovics, Malcom, Ruben Neves and Renan Lodi were also in the starting line-up for the Saudis.

al-Hilal took the lead in the 10th minute, Mitrovics fired into the right corner at the end of a nice attack, Abdullah al-Hamdan doubled the advantage three minutes later. In the 34th minute, Luis Suárez shot into the net, the Brazilian referee first signaled offside, and then awarded the goal. At halftime, however, Miami trailed by two goals, as Michael scored the Saudis’ third goal.

In the 54th minute, Edina Alves Batista called the video referee to help once more, and following watching the footage, he awarded a penalty to the Americans: Lionel Messi stood behind the ball and confidently bombed into the top left corner.

A minute later, David Ruiz equalized, but in the end al-Hilal might be happy, in the 88th minute, Malcom headed into the goal from a pass from the right side.
