A video of football star Lionel Messi taking a selfie with a young fan is going viral on social media. On his way to the dressing room through the tunnel at the Bloomfield Stadium in Tel Aviv, Israel, a boy ran up to Messi with a mobile phone. Security personnel tried to drag the boy away.

Messi blocked it. The phone fell from the boy’s hand while the security guards were arresting him. The actor instructed the guards to let the fan go and gave him time to pick up the phone. Messi then returned after giving the child a hug and taking a selfie.
A user also posted a selfie of Messi with his young fan on Twitter. However, many people came forward to heavily criticize the security’s treatment of the young man.
