Meta: new tools for parents on Instagram – 06/14/2022 at 14:42

(CercleFinance.com) – Instagram, the photo-sharing social network owned by Meta Platforms, announced on Tuesday the launch of a series of new tools aimed at giving parents more control over the online activity of their teenage children.

These new resources include supervision features giving them the ability to view the applications downloaded by their children and to display the list of their friends on Oculus, the group’s virtual reality activity.

Teenagers will also be able to ask their parents for permission to acquire apps blocked by default under the IARC classification by sending a notification.

Instagram also plans to help its teenage users better manage their time on the platform with the launch of ‘nudges’, these soft decision prompts, and messages inviting them to take time out.

All these tools are already beginning to be rolled out globally, the social network points out on its corporate blog.
