Summer 2022 will not be cold. This was told by the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia Roman Vilfand.

“Summer will not be cold. The temperature will be near and above normal. Confident forecasts about hot or cold summers should not be trusted, such forecasts can only be probabilistic,” Vilfand told TASS.

According to the Hydrometeorological Center, in the first month of summer, the average monthly temperature will be above the norm in the east of the Northwestern Federal District, in most of the Urals Federal District and in the north of the Siberian Federal District. The opposite situation is expected in the north of the Central Federal District, in the Volga Federal District, in the western regions of the North-Western Federal District – there this summer will be colder than in 2021.

As for July, in the western regions of the Northwestern Federal District, in the Central Federal District, in the north of the Southern Federal District and in the Volga Federal District, the air temperature will be lower than in the same period last year. In August, the average monthly temperature will be above the norm in the west of the Central and Southern federal districts. According to forecasters, colder than in August 2021 is expected in the east of the Central and Southern Federal Districts and in the southern part of the Urals Federal District.
