A sample was sent to a Navy laboratory for analysis, confirmed to be methamphetamine, and confiscated.
The Navy has seized and destroyed nearly 114 tons of methamphetamine so far this year, the statement said.
Methamphetamine is a highly addictive stimulant, usually powdered or crystallized but often transported dissolved in a solution. The aim is to make it difficult to be detected on the way, and it will crystallize once more when ingested.
According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), more than 32,000 Americans died from psychostimulant overdose in 2021. Methamphetamines occupy a leading position among such drugs.
