Metro passengers in Yerevan are evacuated
The operation of the metro was suspended in Yerevan due to information regarding the mining of all stations, said the press secretary of the Yerevan metro, Tatev Khachatryan. The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that shopping centers might also be mined.
“Like the previous time, there was a report that bombs had been planted at all metro stations. Currently, work is underway to evacuate passengers. The subway does not operate,” Khachatryan quotes radio Sputnik Armenia.
The Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations stated that they received information regarding the mining of all metro stations in Yerevan, all the most important military and civilian facilities, all shopping centers, the zoo, the parliament building and the Church of St. Grigor Lusavorich. Rescuers, cynologists and sappers are working on the spot. Visitors are being evacuated.
