Metroid Prime 4: news soon? Finally some movement… and an image!

Game News Metroid Prime 4: news soon? Finally some movement… and an image!

Are things (finally) starting to pick up speed on Metroid Prime 4? The Retro studio has updated its banner photo on Twitter… showing a glimpse of Samus, lurking in the shadows.

The Queen’s Return

Since last night, the whole Nintendo sphere has been in turmoil. For good reason, the small gesture, probably not insignificant, of Retro Studios which is in charge of Metroid Prime 4 : the firm simply changed the cover photo of its Twitter account. Nothing to fall backwards, you will say, except this one represents a never-before-seen image of Samus, lurking in the shadows and in a mysterious blue hall. That smells strongly of teasing.

For many, the glassy effect would simply come from the point of view: wouldn’t we see there through the visor of an enemy, standing in front of the heroine? That of Sylux, perhaps? Although we don’t have an answer to the question, theories are sprouting on the web and internet users are going crazy. I have to say that Metroid Prime 4 is a long-awaited project…

Call the Samus

One cannot really say that until now, the fate of Metroid Prime 4 was particularly lucky. First announced during E3 2017 with a first video, the project will have been damn discreet, until announcing the terrible news, two years later: the design was canceled to start from scratch. For once, the gestation was entrusted to Retro Studios – it was not the case originally – the company behind the Metroid Prime. A blessing in disguise, some would say.

Since then, we have had absolutely nothing to eat: no video, no image and even less release date. On the other hand, we know that the work continues fervently ; same as Retro Studios has recruited tirelessly to complete the job. If the latter is probably not completed, this first public gesture and this first enigmatic image seem to show that things could well accelerate drastically in the near future.

We recall that last September, Nintendo dropped Metroid Dreadthe 2D sequel to the original sagawhich was an excellent snack of which you can find our test at this address. Ready for the return of 3D in due form?
