President Andrés Manuel López Obrador congratulated the Conahcyt and Avimez researchers who developed the “Patria” vaccine against the SARS-CoV-2 virus, which was approved for emergency use two days ago.

“The Mexican Patria vaccine against COVID-19 has already been approved by specialists. Congratulations to the CONAHCYT and Avimex researchers,” said the President through a message that he spread on his social networks.

This was unanimously resolved, in an extraordinary session, by the Committee on New Molecules (CMN) of the Federal Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risks (Cofepris) of Mexico, who agreed that the information presented by the national manufacturer Avi-Mex was sufficient. .

“The favorable opinion on the AVX/COVID-12 vaccine, with the NDV recombinant platform, developed by Avi-Mex, indicated for the active immunization of people over 18 years of age intramuscularly will allow, if all stages are successfully completed, to obtain authorization for emergency use,” Cofepris said in a statement.
