Michael Collins’ yellow gold Omega Speedmaster sold for $765,000

To celebrate the success of the Apollo 11 mission and the first watch worn on the Moon, Omega produced a limited series of solid gold Speedmaster watches (reference BA145.022-69), the first thirty of which were given as gifts to those that made the moon landing possible. A very special and certainly historic special edition.

Remember that the logo of this Apollo 11 mission was designed by Michael Collins who was, let’s remember, the pilot of the command module.

Third man of the crew, Collins had remained in the Apollo 11 capsule while Armstrong and Aldrin set foot on the Moon thanks to the lunar module.
