Microsoft’s Latest Updates for Windows 11 Tools: Text Actions, Phone Link, and More!

Reports stated that Microsoft is testing new features for some of the tools included in the Windows 11 operating system, and the technology giant has updated its blog post to announce the latest features. Experimental updates have been released for tools such as – the Snipping Tool, Phone Link, and Photos, and an update to the Tool Snipping Tool improves the overall capture experience on Windows 11. These updates have been rolled out to Windows Insider users in the Canary and Dev channels.Text Actions using the Snipping ToolThe latest update to Snipping Tool introduced a new feature called “Text Actions.” This feature can detect text in captured screenshots, as well as Text Actions will make it easier for users to copy text from any image to share with others or paste it into another application. To use this feature, Windows Insider users must click the Text Actions button in the toolbar of the Snipping Tool application. Selecting this option will start displaying Available text that can be selected and copied with the mouse. Users can also click the Copy All Text button in the toolbar or use the shortcut Ctrl + A and Ctrl + C to select and copy the entire text using their keyboard. Using the text actions in the Snipping Tool, users can remove information In screenshots before sharing, the Quick Redact option on the toolbar can automatically hide emails, phone numbers or any selected text. Users can also select the Redact Text option from the right-click menu to hide the text. Remote Capture with Link PhoneMicrosoft is also rolling out an incremental update to its Phone Link app. This update also introduces the ability for users to access and edit their latest photos from their Android mobile devices in the Snipping Tool on their computers.
