Mikati continued his meetings on the sidelines of the “Munich Security Conference”

Prime Minister Najib Mikati continued his meetings in Munich, Germany, in conjunction with his participation in the “Munich Security Conference”.
In this context, President Mikati held a meeting with German Minister of State for International Cooperation Nils Anin, in the presence of Lebanon’s Ambassador to Germany, Mustafa Adib, and discussed with him the bilateral relations between the two countries and Germany’s efforts to support Lebanon in all international forums.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt

President Najib Mikati met with Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and discussed bilateral relations.
President Mikati asked Minister Shoukry to convey his greetings to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and thanked him for Egypt’s constant interest in Lebanon and the recent aid that Egypt sent to Lebanon.

Iran’s foreign minister

The Prime Minister also met with Iranian Foreign Minister Amir Abdollahian, in the presence of the Director General of Public Security, Major General Abbas Ibrahim, who is also participating in the Munich Conference, and the Lebanese ambassador to Germany.
After the meeting, Minister Abdullahian distributed a statement in which he indicated that “he called on all countries to support Lebanon’s stability and security without any country interfering in its internal policies.” He stressed that “Tehran stresses the need to strengthen relations between Iran and Lebanon in the political and economic fields.”

Congress delegation

President Mikati also met with a delegation from the US Congress that included Senator Chris Murphy, Senator Ms. Jane Shaheen and Senator Chris Van Hollen.

President of the Kurdistan Regional Government

The Prime Minister held a meeting with the President of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani.
During the meeting, the relations between Lebanon and the Kurdistan region were discussed, stressing the need to strengthen and develop them.
The research also touched on developments in Iraq and the region, and efforts to form the new Iraqi government.

President Mikati met with the former head of the German Christian Democratic Party and candidate for chancellor and a member of the German Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee Armin Laschet.
