Former heavyweight boxer Mike Tyson punched a passenger on a plane following he “hurled a water bottle” at him, according to a spokesman for the former boxing champion.
A video taken on the plane showed Tyson leaning back in his seat and repeatedly punching an unknown person sitting behind him.
A spokesperson for the heavyweight boxing legend confirmed that the incident came as a result of Tyson being “harassed by an aggressive rider”.
The police were called, who detained Tyson and the other person for a short time.
One person was treated at San Francisco International Airport for minor injuries that were not life-threatening.
“This individual provided minimal details regarding the incident and refused to show further cooperation for the police investigation,” a San Francisco Police spokesperson said in a statement.

The accident occurred on board a JetBlue flight last Wednesday night, just before it left San Francisco International Airport for Florida.

San Francisco police said they were “aware of a video that may have been taken of the incident.” Video footage of the incident was also sent to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office, which is responsible for the investigation under its jurisdiction.
