Alfa Group clarified that the businessman is now in Moscow and “plans to visit Russia regularly.”
“When everything calms down, I plan to return to Israel and live there permanently,” Friedman said. He explained the move by difficulties with life in the UK under sanctions.
Let us recall that Mikhail Fridman became one of the first Russian businessmen to fall under sanctions in connection with the start of a special military operation. The UK joined EU sanctions in mid-March this year. Nevertheless, the businessman remained in London for a long time, although he stated that his life was now comparable to house arrest, and his bank cards were blocked.
