President Javier Milei referred in the last few hours to the plan announced in mid-February to provide assistance to parents who have difficulties paying the fees for the private schools their children attend and assured: “It is working.”

During an interview with journalist Samuel “Chiche” Gelblung, the president referred to the initiative regarding which details are unknown, because it was never formally announced.

“We made a program to provide financing to children who study in the private sector, whose parents cannot pay the fee,” Milei introduced.

“But that never came,” Gelblun replied.

“Everything is working,” assured the President. And he said: “The other day I was having dinner with a friend and basically his maid…”.

Given the anecdote, the journalist asked him: “And did you notify the parents that if you can’t pay the fee it will help you?”

“Parents have to coordinate it with the school and the help is provided from Anses,” said Milei.

Help to pay fees

The help to pay school fees in private institutions was announced on February 15, when Milei anticipated that Sandra Pettovello and Luis Caputo were working to implement this assistance.

However, the plan was never made official, nor were details given on how to access the benefit.
