On Monday at around 2.30 a.m. there was a rear-end collision involving two trucks in the Tauern Tunnel, the Zederhaus volunteer fire brigade reported. The brake system of a truck loaded with caustic liquid developed a defect, causing the semi-trailer to suddenly brake. The truck driver driving behind was unable to react in time and hit him. Nobody was harmed during the accident. The load of the dangerous goods truck was not damaged. Both vehicles had to be towed. The volunteer fire brigade Zederhaus was in action. The Tauern Tunnel was closed until 5 a.m.
As before, on the A10 of the Tauern autobahn in the direction of Villach, you should allow half an hour more. Drivers are stopped in front of the Flachau enclosure until the traffic jam behind the accident site has cleared. The traffic jam currently extends six kilometers back to Altenmarkt.
