Artist Miley Cyrus releases new. Or old, according to music journalist Moa Lindstedt.
– This song is said to have been written already for the “Bangerz” album from 2013 which included hits like “Wrecking ball”. But it must have been removed before release, maybe it didn’t measure up or it didn’t fit in then, says Moa Lindstedt.
Released eleven years later
The song has been circulating on the internet ever since, but received a boost when artist and fashion designer Pharrell Williams chose to play the song during a show at Paris Fashion Week.
– Then you sensed that there was a real release underway, says Moa Lindstedt.
Collaborating
Pharrell Williams and Miley Cyrus are among the authors. That the song is a joint project can be heard in the sound.
– You can really hear Pharrell’s signature on this song, it’s this funky bass loop with Miley’s rocking voice. Together, both stars can shine, says Moa Lindstedt.
