What did it actually look like here 1,000 years ago? This is a question that is impossible to answer in most cases. Although there are all sorts of contemporary documents from the year 1024, they do not go beyond written descriptions and more or less detailed drawings. The “Camera Obscura” dates from the same century, but it would still be 800 years before photos might be created through the combination of optical and chemical processes.
