Mini 3: DJI’s ultra-lightweight 4K flying camera is already being tested

As before each model launch, the Internet and its share of rumors echoed the imminent arrival of a possible successor to the Mini 2, present in the DJI catalog for two years now. It is now official with the announcement of the Mini 3, which is in the wake of the Mini 3 Pro and has characteristics very similar to the latter. The Mini 3 takes up the 12 Mpx 1/1.3” CMOS sensor, this time limited to 4K/30 IPS format, so as not to overshadow the Pro version. Wiser, the Mini 3 has only simple downward obstacle detection, while the Pro version has three sensors at the front, back and under the device. The Mini 3 demonstrates the same compactness and lightness, still weighing less than 249 g with its standard battery, for a dimension of 145 x 90 x 62 mm folded and 1251 x 362 x 70 mm unfolded with propellers.

A more accessible drone

The Mini 3 will be offered for sale in five different configurations. The DJI Mini 3 version (only version) is sold for €489, including the Mini 3 drone without remote control or charger (available in early 2023). The DJI Mini 3 with the DJI RC-N1 remote control is €579 (available in early 2023). The DJI Mini 3 (DJI RC) pack is sold at a price of €749 with the DJI RC radio control (available in early 2023). The DJI Mini 3 Fly More bundle includes the DJI RC-N1 remote controller, shoulder bag, two-way charging station and two additional Intelligent Flight Batteries for €768 (available today). The DJI Mini 3 Fly More (DJI RC) Bundle includes the DJI RC Remote Controller, shoulder bag, two-way charging station and two additional Intelligent Flight Batteries for €938 (available today).

Being tested for a few days at the editorial office, we will come back very quickly to the potential of the Mini 3 to give you our impressions concerning the flight and the quality of the images, as well as the results of the measurements carried out in the lab.
