2023-07-13 19:25:04

The minister made this announcement during a trip to Saint-Louis (north), where he came to visit the survivors of the capsizing of a canoe carrying migrants, specifies APS.

The boat was carrying around sixty people when it capsized on Wednesday around 5 a.m. at the mouth of the Senegal River (north).

During his trip to this city, the Minister of the Interior also denied the information according to which 300 migrants on board boats leaving Senegal had perished at sea, adds the same source.

The minister assures that the migrants in question are doing rather well. He invited on this occasion “those who make certain declarations or give information concerning these Senegalese to be careful”, according to the APS.

He believes that certain information can create panic and very great emotion among the parents of the people concerned.
