Minister reaffirms that new roads relieve traffic in Zango – Jornal OPaís

The construction of 16 kilometers of new service roads entering and leaving the urban district of Zango to the Fidel Castro Ruz expressway is relieving road traffic, said today, Saturday, the Minister of Public Works, Urban Planning and Housing, Carlos Alberto dos Santos.

The government official who was speaking at the conclusion of the inspection visit to some road works in the country’s capital city, Luanda, said that with this work still ongoing, road traffic has already been more fluid, especially on the service roads accessing the expressway , Fidel Castro Ruz.

He explained that to this end, new access roads into and out of Zango were identified, in order to facilitate road traffic and mobility, over a 38-kilometre route.

“Within a short time and in collaboration with the Provincial Government of Luanda, within the scope of the integrated infrastructure program, work will begin on the access roads, as the aim is to find a solution for those who live in Zango”, he stated the ruler.

Catete/Maria Teresa section with delays The rehabilitation of the 53 kilometers of the Catete/Maria Teresa section, Estrada Nacional (EN)230, in the Province of Luanda, which began in October 2023, is experiencing significant delays, as unexploded ordnance was found in the train intervention zones.

According to the minister, the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) are demining the verges to make earthworks, widening and asphalting work safe.
