Minister Siches met privately with the father of Breant Rivas Manríquez, the young police officer murdered in Chillán. Different police units paid tribute to her, while his coffin was received with a cueca foot in Renaico.
The Minister of the Interior and Public Security, Izkia Siches, met with the policeman’s father, Breant Rivas Manriquez.
Let us remember that the policeman was assassinated during the early hours of this Thursday in a procedure in Chillán.
As had been anticipated, the Secretary of State traveled to the capital of Ñuble to offer her condolences to the family of the new martyr of the institution.
It was a reserved meeting where the Ñuble presidential delegate, Claudio Ferrada, according to images sent by their communications team.
Likewise, through a video sent to the media, Siches reiterated his condolences to the family.
“We have come on behalf of the President of the Republic, Gabriel Boric Font, to extend our deepest condolences to the family of Breant Rivas Manríquez, a 23-year-old police officer who died on duty,” he said.
“We regret and extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends and the entire Carabineros institution.”
Siches: “We need to reduce the firepower of criminals”
Along these lines, he assured that as a government they committed to continue advancing on an agenda to try to reduce acts of violence.
“As a government, we have also committed to continue advancing in an agenda that puts a stop to crime and firearms,” he said.
“We need to reduce the firepower of criminals and we will continue working for Breant and for many more,” he concluded.
After the meeting, Minister Siches returned to the Metropolitan region.
Police units paid tribute to Breant Rivas
Let us remember that the body of the murdered carabinero was transferred to his native Renaico, where he will finally be buried.
During his journey from Chillán, different police units paid tributes as they passed through Route 5 South, as happened in Los Angeles.
In that area, police personnel arrived at kilometer 20 of Route 180, at the height of the Coihue bridge, to honor him.
Likewise, in the Temuco Formation Group, where Breant Rivas received his instruction, they made a Touch of Silence.
