Ministers Information: Toshka project adds 1.1 million feddans to the agricultural area in Egypt

The Cabinet Information Center published an infographic about the Toshka project, explaining that it contributes to adding an area of ​​up to 1.1 million feddans to the agricultural area in Egypt, as part of the efforts exerted by Egypt to increase the agricultural area in the south of the valley, provide job opportunities for the people of Upper Egypt, and support Food security for Egypt.

The Information and Decision Support Center had published a new infographic that monitors the Egyptian efforts made in the water and sanitation sector. The percentage of the population benefiting from clean drinking water services during 2021 reached 98.7%, compared to 98.5% in 2020.

The percentage of the population benefiting from sanitation services during 2021 reached 66.7%, compared to 61.5% in 2020, and the percentage of treated wastewater in Egypt increased from 86.6% in 2020 to 74.3% in 2019.

Egypt is embarking on implementing the strategic plan to expand the establishment of seawater desalination plants to provide 6.4 million cubic meters per day of citizens’ drinking needs.
