Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, confirmed that the correction of essay questions in the general secondary exams will be done via the tablet.
The minister said that this is the ministry’s keenness to ensure that each student takes his right in a way that achieves the principle of justice, equal opportunities, transparency, and objectivity, and in a manner that guarantees them the correct evaluation.
The Minister of Education indicated that the work of correcting exams, with regard to essay questions on the tablet, is carried out by a number of evaluators in the light of the Rubric performance evaluation measures for each question, with (2) correctors for each question, to ensure the accuracy of the assessment and the use of a third corrector in the event of a difference in the assessment of the correctors. This is to put the final evaluation, with reviewing the answer form before starting the electronic correction by a committee of 10 experts.
Hijazi pointed out that question and answer forms will be made available after completing all secondary school exams 2023, on the Ministry of Education website, in the Ministry’s interest in the interest of students and maintaining their focus during the examination period.
Today, Saturday, Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, inspected the headquarters of the electronic correction of essay questions, at the Mansoura Military School for Boys of the West Mansoura Administration, during his visit to Dakahlia Governorate, to follow up on the progress of the general secondary certificate exams (first round) for the academic year 2022/ 2023.
The minister went to the electronic correction room for the Arabic language, followed the correction procedures, and held a dialogue with the correctors about the procedures followed and the correction steps.
The minister also inspected the electronic correction room for the second foreign language subject (German language) and (French language).
This came in the presence of Khaled Abdel-Hakam, head of the central administration to reduce educational dropout and deputy head of general secondary exams, Nasser Shaaban, director of the directorate of education in the governorate, and Hani Antar, deputy director of the directorate.
It is worth noting that the assessment work for the Arabic language course (essay questions) was started electronically on Wednesday, corresponding to 6/21/2023, and the correction of the second foreign language (German) and (French) was started on Friday, corresponding to 6/23/ 2023.
