In an impressive security blow, the Ministry of the Interior succeeded in seizing a very dangerous gang that specialized in smuggling and trafficking in narcotic substances. The formation fell and was in possession of a large amount of hydro-narcotic, the financial value of which was estimated at about 120 million pounds.
This came in recognition of the importance of continuing security vigilance to protect society from the dangers of drugs and to preserve the youth and to implement the constants of the strategy of the Ministry of Interior in decisive response and directing preemptive security strikes against drug traffickers.
Investigations of the Anti-Narcotics, Weapons and Unlicensed Ammunition Sector, in coordination with the (Public Security – National Security) sectors and the (Suez – Ismailia) security directorates, confirmed the intention of forming a very dangerous gang to smuggle large quantities of hydro-narcotic for trafficking.
After legalizing the procedures, they were targeted, and the formation elements, numbering 6, were seized, and they were in possession of a quantity of hydro anesthetic, weighing 4 tons, in addition to an amount of money. The financial value of the seized narcotics is estimated at approximately 120 million pounds.
