Ministry of Interior’s Crackdown on Residence, Work, and Border Violators: Impressive Results Revealed!

The Ministry of Interior in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is implementing continuous field campaigns to control violators of residence, work and border security regulations. The Ministry recently announced the achievement of significant results in this context, as more than 13,939 violators were caught in just a week.

Summary of the results achieved

During the period from July 27 to August 2, 2023, the joint field campaigns managed to seize 7,894 violators of the residency law, 3,839 violators of the border security law, and 2,206 violators of the labor law.

In addition, 933 people were caught trying to cross the border into the Kingdom in an irregular manner, including 41% of Yemenis, 58% of Ethiopians, and 1% of other nationalities.

In addition, 8 people were arrested for their involvement in transporting, sheltering and operating violators and covering them up. There are currently 37,794 violators who are subject to the procedures for implementing the regulations.

Legal measures for infractions

It is not only the laws that require adherence, but the penalties that await those who break the rules are also severe. Penalties can reach 15 years in prison and a fine of up to one million riyals for people who facilitate the entry of violators into the Kingdom, transfer them within it, provide them with shelter, or provide them with any kind of assistance. In addition, the means of transportation and housing used to shelter the violators are confiscated, and those involved are defamed.

The Ministry of Interior urges the public to report any cases of violation. Violations can be reported in the regions of Makkah Al-Mukarramah, Riyadh and the Eastern Province on the number 911, and in the rest of the Kingdom’s regions on the numbers 999 and 996. These efforts aim to maintain security and stability in the Kingdom and ensure compliance with the laws and regulations in force.
