Minnesota Wild vs. Washington back on winning ways

The Minnesota Wild are back on winning ways.

The 14-game points streak against League Croesus Boston Bruins ended on Saturday. A day later, the Wild beat back the Washington Capitals 5-3 in the LAOLA1 LIVE game.

The hosts from St. Paul get off to a dream start in the game. Matt Boldy puts the Wild in front after 50 seconds (1st). Not even four minutes later, the shooting star can celebrate again. Boldy makes it 2-0 with his second goal of the evening – it shouldn’t have been his last (5th).

Wildly cheering for the 40th win of the season

The guests from Washington only appear on the scoreboard in the second third. Alex Ovechkin shortened the power play (26./PP). A few minutes later, Ryan Reaves restores the old two-goal advantage (31st).

At the beginning of the third period, Minnesota can celebrate again. Duhaime makes it 4: 1 (44th). But the Capitals don’t give up and hit back again. Ovechkin hits the cross corner with a powerful wrist shot right after the face-off – it’s his 39th goal of the season (53./PP).

Around five minutes before the end, Boldy conquered the disc in his own third and completed the break-away for a hat trick (54th). But the guests are responsible for the final point. Strome reduced the lead again to 3:5 (57th).

The Wild take the lead over time and celebrate their 40th win of the season against Washington. The leader of the Central Division Dallas Stars is now only one point missing. The Capitals face a setback in the playoff battle. The last wild card place is five points short.

The Boston Bruins had already celebrated the next brilliant performance. The front runner celebrates a 7-0 shoot-out against Buffalo Sabers.
