A court decided Zagazig feloniesThe accused of kidnapping and killing a child under two years old in the Minya Al-Qamh Center District was placed in a mental health hospital for 45 days, and the session was set for the twenty-eighth of next February, to consider the case until a report is received regarding the accused’s condition.
The decision was issued under the chairmanship of the advisor, Sherif Mohamed Siraj El-Din, the president of the court, and the membership of the advisors, Mohamed Sami Badda, Michael Naeem Michael, and the secretariat of Hassan Abdel Majeed and Ahmed Nasr.
The events of Case No. 33955 of 2023 Minya Al-Qamh Police Station felonies date back to the 3rd of last September, when the South Zagazig Public Prosecution referred the accused, “Sugar G.M.M.,” a 40-year-old housewife residing in the village of Khalwat Al-Shaarawi, within the Minya Al-Qamh Center, to criminal trial. For convicting her of killing the child, “Mustafa M.L.H,” who was not yet two years old.
It was revealed from the referral order that the accused kidnapped the victim out of revenge against his family, and for this purpose she prepared tools consisting of a plastic mobile phone, a cloth bag, and a piece of cloth, and she ambushed him in front of his residence, lurking for him. Once she got hold of him, she put him inside the mobile phone, closed it tightly, then suffocated him, then put it inside the bag. She took the cloth and took it to a stream and threw the mobile phone with the child inside.
The child’s body was found by the family, and after investigations and examination, it became clear that the crime was committed by a neighbor of the child’s mother, called “Sukar.” She committed the crime out of jealousy and revenge on her, with her husband’s return from Saudi Arabia for the purpose of performing the aqeeqah on the victim. The accused was arrested and referred to the Public Prosecution, which referred her. Detained before the Criminal Court, which issued its previous decision.
