Since 6 a.m. this morning, searches have been undertaken by a canine team from the fire brigade in the Courtine area, between the TGV station and the central station of Avignon in order to find a person. A train conductor reportedly saw a passenger jump off the train as it approached the station entrance. But since their arrival, the emergency services have found nothing. Still, this accident greatly disrupts traffic in the region.
Traffic was stopped for more than an hour, in both directions between Avignon centre/Avignon TGV and Arles during the search. If it gradually resumes in the Tarascon-Avignon direction, it is however always interrupted in the other direction, between Tarascon and the two stations of the city of the Popes.
The recovery time is estimated at 9:30 a.m. but several trains are disrupted from Marseille, or even canceled from Avignon.
