Miss World 2023: Clémence Botino chosen to represent France

Guadeloupean Clémence Botino, elected Miss France in 2020, is not ready to hang up. After climbing to the top 10 of the Miss Universe rankings in 2021, she is now in the running to win the crown of Miss World 2023.

Rebelote for Clémence Botino! Miss Guadeloupe 2019 and Miss France 2020 is back on the international scene, chosen by the Miss France Committee to wear the national colors during the Miss World 2023 competition.

An announcement that comes as the current Miss France (2022), Diane Leyre, has withdrawn from participating in Miss Universe.

Unfortunately, I will not be able to participate in the Miss Universe contest due to lack of time and preparation, a few weeks before my presentation of the title of Miss France, next December. I don’t like to do things by halves when it comes to representing France internationally and the choice of my first runner-up, Floriane Bascou, was obvious to live this great adventure. I’m sure she will shine and I will support her like all the French during her journey.

Indeed, the Martiniquaise Floriane Bascou, in the running for Miss Universe, will therefore not be able to compete in Miss World.

The choice is therefore focused on Clémence Botino.

For several years, our national representatives have succeeded in demonstrating that France is one of the countries most represented among the finalists of international competitions. We are delighted with the participation of Floriane Bascou, who will represent France in the Miss Universe competition next January, as well as Clémence Botino in the Miss World competition. They will perfectly embody the values of the Miss France competition internationally. We wish them to fully experience this adventure and we will support them throughout their journey.

A decision certainly motivated by the ranking of Miss France 2020, at the Miss Universe 2021 competition in Israel. At the time, the Guadeloupean had managed to climb to the top 10 of the ranking.
